BCIC Young Innovator Scholarship (YIS)
BCIC’S Young Innovator Scholarship program encourages students to continue their education in the province and pursue careers in British Columbia’s advanced technology industries. We recently launched the 4th year of the program and are inviting all BC secondary schools to register and participate in the competitive process.
The Young Innovator Scholarship is awarded to Grade 11 and 12 BC students who show innovation via Science Fair projects or Idea MashUp competitions at registered schools. Up to $750 in support will be provided to eligible secondary schools that run the program. The student scholarships are valued at $2,000 per awarded entry. Through partnerships with the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) and Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust (SIDIT), scholarships are valued at $4,000 in select regions.
Schools have until Friday February 24th to register.
Please feel free to spread the word to schools in your regions. More information about the scholarship along with the registration materials can be found here.
Each school that registers for the program can submit one winner to receive the scholarship. To be eligible to receive the scholarship, the winning student must be accepted in to a science, technology or business entrepreneurship program at a BC post-secondary institution the year following graduation.
